Akira, Production Manager

Hello my name is Akira and I a proud to call myself the production manager for Hakubaku Australia.

I am Japanese by birth and I first came to Australia 10 years ago for a working holiday and fell in love with the plac. I decided while I was here to apply for Permanent residency and now I call Australia home.

The reason I love Australia so much is the laid back lifestyle and the attitude of the people. I actually found out about this job when I was visiting Japan and had an interview in the Japan Headquarters!

I am very interested in Organic Products and as a Production Manager it is fantastic to work with such an innovative product and with a group of people who are committed to the best product possible. Making noodles is not like running a production line to make something like a machine or car parts. Noodles are alcmost like a living breathing thing. Every time you make them it is slightly diffeent and to me the Production Line is like a giant instrument which I love to play and produce beatiful noodles.

My favourite product that we make is Cha Soba. it is a really special product with such a delicate balance of aroma and texture.

Part of my job is to go to the farmers markets and sell our products. I love taking to people about hakubaku noodles and telling them how they can prepare them.
