Eileen Grose, Factory Manager I'm Eileen, an Australian Farmers Kid who always had a fascination with machines and fixing things on the farm. When I got older I became a Primary School Teacher which I loved but I missed messing around with machines and producing something with my hands. When I came to Hakubaku I started just working on the production floor but got promoted to what I do now, which is running the factory. The teacher in me likes to be in charge of the room but I still get to tinker with the machines! I really enjoy working here especially as I am personally committed to organic production (it’s what keeps me interested when I have a hard day). I enjoy trying to mix Australian working culture and a japanese company, there is much that is different and much that is the same. Like Many Japanese companies the management expect everyone to be involved in improving the company and making our products as good as they can be. Everyone who works here genuinely wants to do a good job and make things better, they are a great bunch to work with...most of the time (no one's perfect, don't tell them I said that). |
